The return and a new beginning, only two weeks today!!
Southsea Sound recording studio’s much loved open mic nights ‘Originals Only’ and ‘The Cover Club’, have merged into something new and wonderful. With Original Only starting on 6th of December 2023 and the Cover Club joining the rosta in February 25, the nights have hosted some amazing talent over the past three years.
Now in 2026 we have decided to combine both events into a single monthly affair, Southsea Sound’s ‘SECRET STAGE’, showcasing, well… everyone!
We’ll still be hosted by our friends and neighbours, Southsea Spirit. If it’s your thing, our sisters from another mister serve the best margs in town, plus a whole host of cocktails, artisan and small batch beverages.
And how do you play?
Well, all performers are welcome! Get in touch to book your spot. Singers, poets, drag, comedy, originals, covers, magic tricks, whatever you can think of, all acts considered, all abilities welcome!
With our legend of a compère Gary Fairhall still in residence and myself, Andy or both covering tech, the first Wednesday of every month promises to be just as wholesome as always. The first event is on the 7th October 2026 featuring Aaron McMullen, Tony Warnock, Wren and Mary Red with Rob Saunders.
I hope you can make it, it’s a lovely time. x El
