A trans-inclusive, 18+ singing and noise-making group for women and gender non-conforming people in Portsmouth.
A slightly
anarchic
noise party.
Grrls to the Front is a monthly group guided by El Morgan. The idea is simple: get a room full of people making sound together without turning it into an audition, a theory lesson or a competition.
You do not need to call yourself a singer. You will not be pushed into singing alone, and if something is not for you, you can sit it out. The point is to try something new in a warm, inclusive space and have a very good time doing it.
There is usually tea, coffee and biscuits around too. The bar, naturally, is not included in that particular act of generosity.

Grrls to the Front is for women and gender non-conforming people aged 18 and over, and is proudly trans-inclusive.
- No previous singing experience needed.
- No requirement to read music or know music theory.
- No one has to sing solo.
- No pressure to take part in anything you do not want to do.
- Community and creativity matter more than getting things “right”.

Meet
El.
Grrls to the Front is run by El Morgan (she/her), a musician and vocal practitioner who has toured across the UK and Europe and now runs Southsea Sound.
Years spent on both sides of the microphone feed into a session that is playful, empowering and intentionally low on musical snobbery. Everyone gets space to make sound in their own way.
