Southsea Sound
A quick guide to deposits, cancellations and responsibility for bookings.
Rehearsals
Payment in full is required online when booking a rehearsal. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session starts are charged at the full cost of the booking.
Responsibility for these charges always lies with the person making the booking.
Recording
Southsea Sound requires a non-refundable and non-transferable £50 deposit for every day of a recording project that is booked. We operate a one-week cancellation policy.
Cancellations made within one week of the project are charged at the full cost of the booking. Responsibility for these charges always lies with the person making the booking.
If we have to cancel
If Southsea Sound has to cancel, any deposit paid will be transferable or refundable.
Please be aware that we reserve the right to cancel appointments in emergencies and cannot accept financial responsibility for doing so.
Southsea Sound
How we use the personal information you give us when you enquire, book, buy or sign up.
The essentials
Southsea Sound is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Depending on how you use the website or studio, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, band or client name, booking information, event ticket details, delivery address, enquiries and information relating to purchases or payments.
We do not store your full debit or credit card details. Online payments are processed securely by Stripe.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries; manage rehearsal and recording bookings; process Shop orders and Event tickets; send service-related emails; manage cancellations, refunds and rescheduled Events; and maintain appropriate customer, business and financial records.
We use information where it is needed to provide the service you requested, for legitimate business administration, and where we need to meet legal or record-keeping obligations.
Marketing
We only add you to Southsea Sound marketing where you choose to sign up. Marketing consent is separate from making a booking, placing an order or buying a ticket.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not stop service emails that are needed for an active booking, order or ticket.
Who helps us run the service
We use service providers to operate Southsea Sound, including our website host, Stripe for online payments, AWS SES for transactional email and FreeAgent for accounting. These providers receive information only where it is needed for the relevant service.
We do not sell customer information to advertisers or other businesses.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain appropriate business and financial records, resolve queries and meet legal obligations. Marketing contact information is retained until you unsubscribe or we otherwise determine that it should no longer be kept.
Your information
You may have rights to ask for a copy of your personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion in certain circumstances or object to some uses. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.
For a privacy question or to exercise your rights, email info@southseasound.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we use your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
